Benefit Concert- “Violins in Contrast”

Brown House Event Center will hold a Benefit Concert on Saturday, June 23rd from 2pm – 4:30pm at the Brown House at 425 N. First Avenue in Stayton. Violinist Mark Babson and fiddler Truman Price will present a program of the many genres of music written for violin. Mark Babson has played with the Salem Chamber Orchestra, the Linfield Chamber Orchestra, and the Salem Symphony.  Truman Price has been called “ Oregon’s leading student of music of the Oregon Trail era…”

Mark will play 3 classical pieces for us, including ones by Bach, Paganini, and Telemann. Truman will play pieces from Oregon Trail to swing to current fiddle favorites.

This unusual concert featuring contrasting music styles will make for a fascinating presentation. Tickets are $12.50 each and will support rehabilitation and events at Brown House. Tickets are limited and can be purchased online at brownhouse.org/buy-tickets
